Fajitas

Fajitas – One of the Most Famous Dishes

Whether you like meat, poultry, fish, or vegetarian food, fajitas are a delicious recipe. Technically, they might be more Tex Mex than Mexican but we can overlook that fact because they are so delicious and well worth making. Fajitas are one of the most popular dishes on restaurant menus and they are also easy to make yourself. Typical fajita fillings include chicken, shredded beef or shrimp. Crunchy fried onions and bell peppers are often served in restaurants with fajitas, and sour cream, guacamole, and salsa go well too. In restaurants, the tortillas and accompaniments are often served on individual platters, with the meat served on a sizzling hotplate, so you can assemble your own.

Great Party Food

Fajitas are ideal if you have having a party because you can serve the fajita components separately. Lay out the tortillas, meat, cheese, vegetables, and sauces and let people assemble their own. This is a lot of fun and it is timesaving for you too. Fajitas are really colorful because of the ingredients and especially the bright bell pepper strips, and they make great party food. Traditional Texan Rio Grande Valley fajitas were made with skirt steak but now pretty much any meat or fish can be used for them. You can marinate the meat, poultry, or fish before cooking it, to add a more intense flavor.
