Spicy Mexican Chicken Chili Tikka Masala

Chicken tikka masala consists of chicken marinated in yogurt and spices and then baked in a spicy sauce. There is no set recipe for chicken tikka masala, although the recipe usually this famous Indian chicken recipe includes either coconut cream or plain cream and tomato. The Hindi word “tikka” means “spicy” but when making your own chicken tikka masala recipe you can control the spiciness level and make the dish mild or hot.

Combining a traditional chicken tikka masala recipe with Mexican ingredients makes a wonderful fusion dish which crosses Indian food with Mexican food with a great result. Since both cuisines like to use chilies in many of their best-known recipes, it goes without saying that a lot of the popular flavors and cooking styles are shared between the two.

Making Mexican chicken chili tikka masala is a bit like making Mexican casseroles because of the sauce. This chicken tikka masala goes nicely with fragrant basmati rice or you could try serving it with nachos to dip instead. This is one of our delicious yet easy Mexican recipes. Use any hot red chili pepper if you cannot find red jalapeños. You will get the same heat from them.

Anyone who loves both Indian and Mexican food and is feeling torn about which one to prepare for dinner should seriously consider this recipe. Although these cuisines do not always work together, and you would get a few strange looks if you were to serve for example a taco and a burrito alongside mushroom biryani, fusing the flavors in this way makes sense, since you are combining all the ingredients you would expect in a red chicken chili with cream to make it luxurious, plus an Indian chicken marinade to add all those exotic flavors to the chicken.
